Let’s face it – our nation is in a housing frenzy! Not a buying or selling frenzy per se, a remodeling frenzy! We have gone koo-koo over HGTV and its never ending supply of do-it-yourself shows. In the midst of that obsession comes a new addiction called Houzz. This website and app boosts endless pictures of all things related to homes and remodeling projects. You can browse by space, style and even Metro areas and receive information on products, anything from paints to fireplaces, by simply clicking on the tags shown in some photos. In addition to searching by products, both the app and website feature information on the designer or architect used to remodel some of the spaces. You’ll find yourself hooked in no time!
As if looking at beautiful remodeled houses is not enough the app lets you create your own “Ideabook” – mine currently holds a slew of unrealistic landscaping designs, but hey, according to The Outdoor Room with Jami Durie nothing is impossible. So don’t be ashamed to show your friends all of your plans for the future remodeling of your home.
If you’re a licensed Realtor I have a great idea for this app and website. Next time you have an Open House with a space that leaves much to the imagination, have a slideshow of ideas play and let your visitors get a taste of what might be possible with that outdated bathroom that’s currently part of your listing! I think it is a huge conversation starter and might help you to engage people longer.
